The Asus ZenWatch
is about to hit stores in Taiwan this November, just as the company
promised, however, news site VR Zone reports that the initial run will
consist of only 300 units. The reason for the limited availability is
unknown, but it is a sign that Asus may not be in a hurry to bring the
device to western markets.
The ZenWatch was announced at this year's IFA in germany and impresses with a sleek, elegant, slightly curved design. Its hardware
is also nothing to snark at, with a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of storage, and a 1.63" screen with a 320x320 resolution (278 PPI), protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. Unfortunately, there's no word on battery capacity. The device comes with Android Wear OS and Asus have also been talking about a custom ZenUI for the watch. We distinctly remember Google saying "No!" to Android Wear skinning, so we are unsure what Asus may have done with the UI.
Have you been waiting for the ZenWatch?
