During the IFA 2015 event, Samsung teased a one-of-a-kind tablet called the “Galaxy View.” Upon release, this device will apparently become the “biggest mobile device” built by the South Korean tech giant. However, now, this humongous tablet has silently made a visit to the GFXBench benchmark testing site, revealing key configuration details.

The Samsung Galaxy View tablet with a mammoth 18.5 (or 18.4-inch) display has apparently been tied to the model number SM-T670. According to GFXBench, the killer display size will reportedly be complemented by a modest 1080p screen resolution.

Under the hood, the tablet will come powered by the company’s own Exynos 7 chipset, in combination with an octa-core processor, running at a maximum speed of 1.6 GHz. The graphics side of things will apparently be taken care of by a Mali-T720 GPU and backed by only a 2 GB of RAM. On the software front, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS was on board, when visiting the benchmark testing site.

However, by the time the slate gets released, there’s a good chance that it could get updated to the next major version i.e. Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

When it comes to memory specification, the Samsung Galaxy View will reportedly come equipped with 32 GB of built-in storage space. GFXBench says, the device will sport a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies and video chats. However, there will be no rear-facing camera unit. Even though, it is surprising to hear the non-availability of primary camera, it makes sense because the slate will carry a laptop-like 18-inch display.

Furthermore, the Galaxy View will support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS, but there will be no LTE support. Meanwhile, GSM Arena said that Samsung will market the device as a wholesome tablet targeting businesses, education and consumer-based entertainment-centric device.

When it comes to Samsung Galaxy View release date, there is no official information available to ascertain the timeframe. Nonetheless, the device reportedly got Bluetooth certified quite recently and hence, the announcement could be anytime soon, according to Sam Mobile.
