FCC gets a visit from the Sony Xperia Z3?
The Sony Xperia Z3 is everywhere. Next thing you know, there will be a breakfast cereal named after it. Early on Wednesday, we had some more pictures and specs about the phone to pass on, including apparent confirmation that it will be the Snapdragon 801 residing under the hood of the phone. It looks like the Snapdragon 805 will have to wait for the Sony Xperia Z4.

Another series of pictures from Thursday revealed the rounded corners of the Sony Xperia Z3, and
the svelte 7mm thin profile on the handset. Now, the international version of the phone has been spotted at the FCC and is believed to be code named D6653, with a model number of PM-0806-BV. Another version of the phone with the model number PM-0802-BV, is supposedly headed for Japan's NTT DoCoMo, and offers local LTE connectivity.

We should see the Sony Xperia Z3 launch in September. The latest rumored specs include a 5.15 inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Driving the phone is expected to be a quad-core 2.4GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU with an Adreno 330 GPU handling graphics. 3GB of RAM is said to be on board with 16GB of native storage inside. The rear snapper is allegedly 20.7MP with a 2.1MP camera adorning the front of the device. Android 4.4.4 should be pre-installed.

September looks like it could be a busy month in the smartphone world, with the Apple iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Alpha, the BlackBerry Passport and the Sony Xperia Z3 all rumored to be seeing the light of day during the month.
