Right now, if you want to buy a 12-inch tablet, you really don’t have too many options. Samsung’s Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3
are the only ones that are worth getting - both being great devices in
their own way. But a new 12-inch slate, reportedly made by Sony, might
be launched in the coming months.
According to DigiTimes, Sony is planning to introduce its 12-inch tablet in the first quarter of 2015. It’s said that the tablet will come with high-end features and a dedicated stylus - just like the Surface Pro 3 and the Note 12.2. Since we’re talking about a Sony tablet, we should expect the upcoming device to have a very thin, water-resistant body, and be included in the Xperia family. Of course that is if this 12-inch Sony slate is real (since DigiTimes’ sources aren’t always reliable).
DigiTimes has it that other (unspecified) companies are also getting ready to launch extra-large tablets early next year. As previously rumored, Apple may be among these companies, as the Cupertino giant is reportedly developing a 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Back to Sony, would you buy a 12-inch Xperia tablet? Or is that too big for you?
