| Apple iPhone 6 sapphire screen ultimate stress test |
The Apple iPhone 6 is expected to arrive with one fascinating new feature - a sapphire display. While nearly all current smartphones use reinforced Gorilla Glass to resist scratches and even drops, a sapphire screen is expected to be much less prone to damage and show much less damage after use.
How tough sapphire really is, though? Just a few days ago, YouTube’s favorite MKBHD uploaded what he called a ‘stress test’, but what seemed like mostly a very gentle, not-so-stressful pressure to the new sapphire display panel part
that has leaked out.
It was interesting to watch, but we needed something much tougher to really put the screen to the test, and now we get it, courtesy of a Chinese tester ready to twist, bend, drop, run over and even put the alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 display on fire.
