The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is expected to be released in the middle of July, according to the latest rumor surrounding the bite-sized version of Samsung's flagship phone. The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini will not have many of the same specs found on the full-sized model. On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 mini will have the same heart rate monitor on the back of the phone, as seen on the
Samsung Galaxy S5. And the fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button on the Galaxy S5, will be found in the same place on the Galaxy S5 mini.
The latest rumored specs include a 4.5 inch glass with a 720 x 1280 resolution. You might recall that one of the knocks on the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini was its 4.3 inch screen and 540 x 960 resolution, which means that this year's "mini" has a much improved display. Powering the phone will be a quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor. 1.5GB of RAM is on board, and the rear-facing and front-facing cameras weigh in at 8MP and 2.1MP respectively. Ultra Power Saving Mode allows the last 10% of battery life to last for as long as 24 hours. Kids Mode will also be included, and there is 4G LTE connectivity. Android 4.4.2 is pre-installed.
Pricing is unknown, but surely we will hear more about that once Samsung makes this model official. While you are waiting for the inevitable, check out the pictures below of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini.
