Black Edition Galaxy S4 Mini LTE gets KitKat 4.4.2

The Galaxy S4 Mini: Black Edition is only available in a few markets, but that hasn't stopped Samsung from rolling out a KitKat 4.4.2 update for the little dark and mysterious handset that could. This is interesting because even though the Black Edition doesn't have nearly the market presence of the standard S4 Mini, it is still getting the software update before its "normal" sibling.

Now we don't know if the update is coming in the form of an over-the-air update as well, or if it is strictly connect-to-your-computer-Samsung-Kies affair, but if you don't mind hooking your phone up to your PC the old-fashioned way, then plug in and get to updating. KitKat for the S4 Mini Black Edition comes courtesy of the Belgian cell phone provider Proximus, who began rolling out the upgrade.
Now there hasn't been any word as to when the standard S4 Mini will receive its 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update, but seeing that the Black Edition has already been upgraded, its hard to imagine that the standard version is too far off. You can check out all the nitty gritty firmware details below.
