You can’t always trust a cheap price tag. The Android tablet market is flooded with devices at rock-bottom prices, but it’s hardly a bargain if you have to deal with lagging performance, a fuzzy screen and sad battery life.  However, there are some excellent tablets that cost less than $200. We’re talking about sharp and bright displays, long endurance and snappy enough performance to play the latest games. .

1. Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 ($149)

Known for its value-priced TVs, Hisense has entered the small tablet market with its new Sero 7 Pro. This $149 Android slate (sold exclusively at Walmart) boasts some impressive specs for the price, including a 1280 x 800-pixel display and a 1.3-GHz quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. And Hisense does all this for $50 less than Google's Nexus 7 or Amazon's 7 Kindle Fire HD, as well as $20 less than HP's new Slate 7.
