Verizon Wireless today started rolling out an official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its Samsung Galaxy Note II (model number SCH-I605) - less than a month after the carrier also updated the newer Galaxy Note 3 to KitKat.

Apart from including all the new stuff that KitKat has to offer, the update brings support for Samsung Knox 2.0 to Verizon’s Note II. It also fixes some issues and small bugs, while removing apps like S Suggest and Samsung Music. Moreover, support for the new Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch has been added.

All in all, Verizon is delivering Android 4.4.2 KitKat to its Samsung Galaxy Note II before AT&T and T-Mobile, but after Sprint, which started rolling out the update at the end of May.

Released in November 2012, the Galaxy Note II is no longer available to buy at Verizon. And that makes perfect sense, as the Note 3 was launched in October 2013, and there’s a new Galaxy Note 4 that’s supposed to be announced as soon as September.
