Apple earlier this week sent out invitations to its September 9 press event, where the company is almost certainly going to announce the iPhone 6, and possibly also its very first wearable device.
Apple’s invitation shows the date of the event, and reads: “Wish we could say more.” Not long after Apple, Lenovo also revealed an invitation that’s styled similar to the iPhone maker’s one, while reading: “We can’t say anything either.” It looks like Lenovo is
trying to mock Apple’s announcement, though it’s doing it in a way that eludes us. In any case, Lenovo’s invitation is for the official launch of the Vibe X2, a new Android smartphone that we saw a couple of times this week.
Lenovo seems to suggest that the Vibe X2 will run Android L (Lollipop?) - but we can’t be sure of this until its event kicks off on September 4 at IFA 2014. According to previous reports, the X2 features a layered metal design, a 5-inch 1080p display, 2 GB of RAM, a 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 13 MP rear camera. As we already told you, the new Lenovo handset resembles some of Sony’s Xperia flagship smartphones.
