Samsung SM-A500 specs leaked - is this a slightly larger Galaxy Alpha variant?

Samsung SM-A500, Galaxy Alpha
Last week, we told you that Samsung would release more metal-made Android smartphones following the introduction of the Galaxy Alpha. These smartphones should be part of a new A-series, initially including the following models: SM-A300, SM-A500, and SM-A700.

The SM-A500 recently appeared in GFXBench’s benchmark database, this allowing us to check out most of its alleged specs. Like the Galaxy Alpha, the SM-A500 sports a 720 x 1280 pixels display, though it’s a 4.8-inch panel, not a 4.7-inch one. It seems that the SM-A500 is powered by a quad-core, 64-bit-capable Snapdragon 410 processor - certainly not the most powerful chipset among Qualcomm’s latest offerings. Other features reportedly include a 4.7 MP (?) front-facing camera, 12 MP rear camera, 2 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory. The new handset currently runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but we guess Android L will be on board eventually (to make use of that 64-bit processor).

While there aren’t any photos to show the Samsung SM-A500, we wouldn’t be surprised if this looked pretty much like the Galaxy Alpha (pictured above). We’ll brig more on this as soon as new, relevant info arrives.
