The next big thing from Samsung is coming soon. The company has sent out press invites for its big UNPACKED 2014 event and - just as earlier rumors claimed - Samsung has scheduled it for September 3rd, 2pm Berlin time.
What will we see there? While Samsung does not mention the Galaxy Note 4 by its name, it’s Samsung’s tradition to officially take the cover off its new phablet at IFA in September, and that’s what’s most likely to be the subject of this Unpacked event.
What can we expect to see in the Galaxy Note 4? Rumors so far gravitate around the following specs: a 5.7-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560-pixel) display, a Snapdragon 805 system chip (plus a model with an Exynos 5433 for some markets), 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel with optical image stabilization, an ultraviolet sensor, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
The new Galaxy Note 4, however, might be just the starter for a longer list of new announcements. We’ve been hearing rumors about a premium metal phone in the works, the so called Galaxy Alpha, then a virtual reality headset by Samsung is also expected, along with other wearables.
We’ve also heard persistent rumors about next-generation flexible displays, but we remain a bit doubtful. Luckily, it’s less than a month until Samsung kicks off its Unpacked 2014 conference, and that’s when we’ll find out.
